Chat with PDFs
Upload a paper and ask questions about its contents. The AI reads the PDF and answers based on what’s inside.
Prerequisites
- A
MOONSHOT_API_KEYor other AI backend configured (admin-only) - A PDF uploaded to Resources (File → Upload)
How to Chat
- Go to Resources
- Find the uploaded PDF
- Click the message bubble icon
- Type a question: “What methodology did they use?” or “Summarize the main findings”
- Press Enter
The answer appears within a few seconds, with citations to the source pages.
What Works Best
- Summarizing a section (“Explain the experiment in simple terms”)
- Extracting data (“What sample size did they use?”)
- Clarifying definitions (“How do they define X?”)
- Finding specific information (“What repository do they use?”)
Limitations
- Scanned PDFs (no text layer) won’t work
- Very long PDFs (>100 pages) may be truncated
- The AI can make mistakes—always verify with the original
